Ubuntu for Android could be available this year but only for manufacturers

Canonical developers earlier this year showed a surprising idea: turn a latest generation smartphone in our PC desktop using Ubuntu for Android software, which allows to enjoy both Android and Ubuntu as we need them.

At the Computex trade show being held in Taipei one of the heads of Canonical, John Barnard, said the development of this solution was ongoing, although neither he nor Mark Shuttleworth confirmed a specific date, saying that Ubuntu for Android could come "possibly" before the end of the year.

Of course, as already mentioned in the initial announcement of this development, Canonical has no intention of "liberating" Ubuntu for Android so you can use any interested: those manufacturers will have the option of preinstalarlo on their smartphones, so that at least in the first instance who wants to exploit the potential of this interesting concept will have to buy one of the terminals to come with that feature.

I do not think that means a lot: in forums such as the famous XDA Developers often achieve what seemed complicated, so maybe with a little luck that wants to impose that limitation Canonical look overwhelmed by the interest of the user community and that ability of some cibergur�s Android community.

Ubuntu for Android The Team that Comes will be a Smartphone

Canonical has just released a very interesting new project: Ubuntu for Android. The idea is simple, the conversion of a terminal at two different things depending on what you are using. Thus an Android phone would be a normal cell, but immediately became a computer with Ubuntu.

Android Ubuntu may be the experience of a complete mobile desktop, not simulated, that come with office software, web browser, applications, email and multimedia, and everything that Android can offer. Seamless integration between Android and Ubuntu. Everything running smoothly and immediately. Therefore, our contact with our PC Android Ubuntu would also allowing access to their Facebook or Twitter, SMS, read and respond to messages or make calls directly from your desktop.
For now, the minimum requirements for Ubuntu + Android are:

• 1 GHz dual-core
• Accelerated video shared by kernel module with Open GL ES / EGL
• 2 GB of disk space
• HDMI video output
• USB Host Mode
• 512 MB of RAM

Anyway, we have to wait until next week, when it will be officially launched at the Mobile World Congress, to be more detailed project information.

Unable to load Deep Freeze Configuration Login Program will not be available

Problem: No Deep Freeze Icon in Taskbar and Shortcut key "(Ctrl+Alt+Shift)+F6" doesnt seem to work and got an error message prompting "Unable to load Deep Freeze Configuration Login Program will not be available".

To Solve This Issue Disable All Faronics Deep Freeze Services

You can done this by simply typing the command services.msc in the run dialog box. Once you are in the services window, locate the service name DFserv and right click on it and select properties (refer to image below).

After clicking properties, stop and disable the service. Refer to the image below for instructions. Note: Restart is needed for changes to take effect on your system.

After restarting, at this point you no longer have any Deep Freeze service or application running at the background of your system. Also the system Deep Freeze Icon should be gone. You are still able re-enable Deep Freeze by reversing the whole process. Note: You can now uninstall deep freeze and re install again.

Ubuntu may be more popular than Linux itself in 2010 BY GOOGLE

Ubuntu is just one of a myriad of Linux distributions, but no one can deny that its rise to fame has been meteoric, especially as a desktop OS.

This week Google announced a �forecast� feature in Google Insights for Search. Essentially it�s a new function that looks at the search history (popularity) of a term and tries to predict what the future trend for that term will look like.

So just out of curiosity we decided to try Ubuntu versus Linux to see what would happen. The dotted line furthest to the right in the chart below is Google�s prediction. We�ve marked the point where the interest for Ubuntu is predicted to overtake Linux with a red arrow, i.e. February 2010.

Since this is based on past data it is in no way a secure prediction of the future, but it does look quite plausible. The interest for Linux (at least as a search term) has long been declining while the interest for Ubuntu has been increasing (although it has slowed down recently).

One interpretation of this data is that the interest for Ubuntu is surpassing the interest for �just� Linux. It�s becoming quite a brand�
