What is TrueOS?

TrueOS (formerly PC-BSD or PCBSD), is a Unix-like, desktop-oriented operating system built upon the most recent releases of FreeBSD-CURRENT. To accomplish this, it provides a graphical installation to enable even UNIX novices to easily install and get it running. It pre-configures desktop environments, video, sound, and networking so that the desktop can be used immediately. A graphical software installation program makes installing pre-built software as easy as other popular operating systems.

TrueOS 2017 New Features and Improvements

The TrueOS team has released a new snapshot of the operating systems Desktop and Server editions. The new snapshot includes several bug fixes, a few new services and package updates. TrueOS 2017-02-22 also includes support for automounting devices and a new jail management utility. Automounting is a new feature allows auto-detection and mounting of inserted USB devices. It also automatically unmounts USB devices when the user ceases accessing the device. New jail utilities jbootstrap (requires being run once to fetch base packages), jinit, and jdestroy are available. These support OpenRC development and add other functionality.

TrueOS Minimum System Requirements

TrueOS has moderate hardware requirements and commonly uses low system resources. Before installing TrueOS, make sure that your hardware or virtual machine at least meets the minimum requirements. To get the most out of your TrueOS experience, use a system that meets the recommended system requirements.

1. 64-bit processor
2. 1 GB RAM
3. 20GB of free hard drive space on a primary partition for a command-line server installation
4. Network card

TrueOS Recommended System Requirements

The following are the minimum recommended requirements. More RAM and available disk space will improve your computing experience:

1. 64-bit processor
2. 4 GB of RAM
3. 50GB of free hard drive space on a primary partition for a graphical desktop installation
4. Network card
5. Sound card
6. 3D-accelerated video card

TrueOS does not require 50 GB for its installation. Instead, the minimum recommendation is to provide sufficient room for the installation of applications and to store local ZFS snapshots and boot environments. These can be used to retrieve earlier versions of files, rollback the operating system to an earlier point in time, or clone the operating system. More RAM is always recommended, so install as much as you can afford. To play modern video games, use a fast CPU. To create a collection of music and movies on the computer, sufficient disk space is required.

Kekuatan besar yang dimiliki Shiroki Maou tidak cuma mengancam Arata dan Trinity Seven, tapi juga seluruh dunia. Demi menjaga dunia, Arata dan para Trinity Seven memulai pertarungan mereka melawan Shiroki Maou.

Ubuntu 12 04 Will Be End Of Life in April 28th 2017 ESM Surprise

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" will reach End-Of-Life in 28 April 2017 (44 days from today). This information released by Adam Conrad today (March 15th) in the official ubuntu-announce mailing list. The surprise is, Dustin Kirkland announces today in the same mailing list that Canonical offers paid Extended Security Maintenance (ESM) for Precise once it reaches End-Of-Life. ESM is a new paid support from Canonical introduced in this year. For you Precise users, you may upgrade to newer supported version of Ubuntu, or replace it, or stay at Precise without updates with the old-archive repo, or stay at Precise and stay up-to-date by purchasing ESM support.
