Turn of Thumbnail Caching for Faster Computer Performance

Turn of Thumbnail Caching for Faster Computer Performance

clear thumbnail chache

Today I have developed an interesting computer tricks for you. By default, Windows creates additional files in your memory. When the computer is on, these additional files to make your computer slow.
If you have enough disk space or if you are interested in creating thumbnails for each folder, you can pull these unnecessary files from your computer following this computer tricks:

Thumbnail Shutdown cache / Removing Thumbs.db files
A thumbnail cache is used to store the thumbnail images to view thumbnails in Windows Explorer in Windows. Each time you go to a folder containing the images and movies, Windows creates a model with a Thumbs.db file. So you can see what the picture / movie. This speeds thumbnails for displaying images such how are you do not need smaller images to recalculate each time the user sees the folder. But every photo is taken in a folder of approximately 2 kb.
To disable this function, do the following:

1. Go to "Start -> Control Panel"

  2. Double-click "Folder Options"

  3. Click the "View" tab

  4. Check the "Do not cache thumbnails (Windows XP)  Alternatively, turn off the icon show previews of files "check box (in Windows 7)
  5. Click Apply and then click OK
Clear thumbnail cache recovery in Windows
On Windows, the thumbnail cache db files can be found in the hidden system folder:
C: Users username AppData Local Microsoft Windows Explorer
If the thumbnails in Windows Explorer is damaged and does not display correctly, you may need to clear the cache of the image or thumbnail cache files has become too big and wants to free hard disk space. To do this, you can follow these steps:1. Open Disk Cleanup (Go to Run, type cleanmgr)2. Select thumbnail and then click OK.3. Click on the Delete Files button.4. Disk Cleanup now clear the thumbnail cache and close.

Troubleshoot Computer Power Supply

Troubleshoot Computer Power Supply

Lets say your power supply just got bad automatically. You cant fix it for sure, because you do not know anything about electronics. For every computer user who knows what it means by having to extract files from a computer that doesnt came on, due to one reason or the other, it bits and i bet you its possible to go all miles just to get a solution to it.

The ugliest is when your power supply gets bunt just before you had to copy your data out of the PC. Its frustrating and you need to find a solution to it immediately. I will not be tutoring you electrical repairs, but I will be helping you find a good and working power supply for your PC. Buying a power supply either from a friend is good same as buying from a friend. What should matter most is if it works, and how do you know if its working if there is no means or time to connect to a PC to check? I remember sometimes ago when I went to a computer store to buy a CD-ROM Drive, nobody cared to have it tested before I take it out, all they needed was me to choose the one I wanted and pay their money, and I had nothing to argue about. However, I was ignorant of the fact that the newly looking color of the Drive does not revile the ability and functionality of the Drive, just to pick my shocks when I had it connected to the owners PC and it didnt even show up in My Computer, Damn.

I could not imagine such things would easily happen to newly bought Drives. This does not only apply to new powers, but also if you wish to troubleshoot the one you have which is not working anymore.
You can still decide to open your computer to check using the following procedures, to make sure the power is either responsible for the reason your computer is not coming on, or it could be somethng ells.

Same as buying a power supply for your PC. What do you do if no means to have it connected to a PC to check? Its difficult as most think, but I am going to make it simple here and you will never be taken by the same kind of embarrassment I found myself in.

Carefully go through the following process and you will be able to determine if it works or not, if there is nobody to check or connect for confirmation.

1.       Ask for a power cable or take one along when going to buy one.
2.      Pick a power supply that best suite the one you need; power it ON using the power cable. You will never notice if the power is ON even after plugging to current, because power supplies do not have any power switches on them.
3.      Use a wire or cable of same kind found in the power supply. It doesnt really matter what wire used, but it should be a good current conductor, maybe soft metals too.

Follow these steps bellow and refer from the image.
a.      On the main standard power plug, count from left to right 1 2 3 and in number 4 pin, insert the wire.
b.      From the right, count 1 2 3 and the wire in pin 4.
At this time, the power should power on automatically once you insert the last wire in the fourth pin from the right.
If it powers on, then the power is functioning and you should be leaving with mind clear.

If the power does not power on automatically, then its not working and you shouldnt fall for such a thing. A bad power supply will hardly came on anyway.

Hope it did work guys?

Caution:
Remember to change the power voltage switch to your region or countrys voltage range mostly 110 and 220. You might have to pay for what you will not be able to use if you are not careful enough annoying.  The switch is somewhere behind the power supply, image two shows.
That works for ATX PS 100 percent sure.
Only for troubleshooting!

Good Luck, hope it did help you?
